2. The Services

Airlingo provides reading and language learning tools for second-language readers. Depending on your plan, settings, browser, location, and available credits, the Services may include:

• context-aware translation for selected, hovered, or visible text;
• word matching, alignment, and reading context to support comprehension;
• lexical simplification and explanation of difficult source-language words;
• entity and knowledge explanations for people, places, organizations, and topics;
• OCR features that extract text from images for reading support;
• text-to-speech and sentence playback; and
• account, preference, billing, credit, and extension-management tools.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features where needed to improve the product, maintain security, comply with law, manage capacity, or prevent abuse.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If the law where you live requires a higher age or parental consent to use online services, you may use the Services only if that requirement is satisfied.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials secure and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. User Content and Permissions

You retain the rights you have in text, images, prompts, settings, support messages, and other content you submit or make available through the Services (“User Content”). You grant Airlingo a limited license to process User Content only as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services, enforce these Terms, and comply with law.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content to the Services. Do not submit confidential, regulated, or sensitive content unless you are authorized to do so and are comfortable with the processing described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Automated Language Results

Airlingo provides automated language, OCR, reading-assistance, and speech features for educational and informational use. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, unavailable, or unsuitable for your situation.

Do not rely on Airlingo results as professional advice or as a substitute for human review, including for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, immigration, academic, employment, or official translation purposes. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying results before relying on them.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Services to:

• violate law or third-party rights;
• submit content you are not authorized to process;
• harass, exploit, or harm others;
• upload malware or interfere with the Services;
• attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
• scrape, overload, or automate requests beyond normal personal use;
• reverse engineer the Services except where law expressly allows it; or
• circumvent usage limits, billing controls, security controls, or access restrictions.

7. Plans, Billing, and Credits

Airlingo may offer limited free access, paid Pro subscriptions, prepaid credit top-ups, promotional credits, included subscription credits, and optional automatic top-ups.

• Free access: may provide limited local browser features and does not include the full Pro feature surface or recurring paid credits.
• Paid Pro: is the primary paid subscription. It may be offered monthly, yearly, or in other billing intervals disclosed at checkout.
• Credit top-ups: may be available only to eligible paid Pro subscribers and may be used for eligible premium usage.
• Automatic top-ups: are optional. If enabled, you authorize Airlingo to charge your saved payment method when the disclosed trigger conditions are met.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel renewal through your account settings or the billing controls made available to you. Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and already-paid fees are non-refundable.

Payment processing and payment method storage are handled by payment service providers. Airlingo receives limited billing metadata needed to manage your subscription, invoices, receipts, credits, and payment status. Service Credits are also governed by the Service Credit Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Airlingo and its licensors own the Services, including software, designs, interfaces, trademarks, documentation, and other materials. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your personal or internal language-learning and reading-comprehension purposes.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Airlingo, the Services, or any underlying technology to you.

9. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for Airlingo or others, failed to pay amounts owed, or used the Services in a way that may cause legal, security, operational, or abuse-prevention issues.

You may stop using the Services at any time. Account deletion, subscription cancellation, and data deletion are handled as described in the Services and in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, available in every region or browser, or that language, OCR, explanation, speech, billing, or credit results will be accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AIRLINGO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AIRLINGO'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID AIRLINGO FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD 100.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Airlingo harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your User Content, your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer protection laws of your place of residence require a different result. Any dispute will be handled in Singapore courts unless applicable law gives you a mandatory right to bring the dispute elsewhere.

14. General Terms

• These Terms and the policies they reference are the entire agreement for the Services.
• If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
• You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent.
